Primary chondrosarcoma of lung.

چکیده
An indication of the rarity of true sarcomata of the lung may be obtained from the report by Mallory (1936). He recorded that only one prima,ry pulmonary sarcoma was confirmed in 8,000 routine necropsies at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Sarcomata in the lung occur more frequently as metastases from distant sites and often make their appearance many years after the treatment of the original tumour (Castleman, 1952). The first description of primary chondrosarcoma of the lung was by Wilks in 1862. Sporadic reports have followed (Greenspan, 1933; Lowell and Tuhy, 1949; Smith, Cohen, and Peale, 1960; Guida Filiho and Pasqualucci, 1963), and the last reported case (Daniels, Conner, and Straus, 1967) contained a comprehensive review

Primary chondrosarcoma of the lung with cutaneous and skeletal metastases.
Extraosseous chondrosarcomas are rare tumours. Primary chondrosarcoma of the lung is very rare, and is considered to be a slow-growing, well-circumscribed tumour, with rare incidence of extra-thoracic metastasis. We report a 60-year-old man who had chondrosarcoma of the lung with two local recurrences, namely: recurrent cutaneous metastases and a skeletal metastasis. Cutaneous metastases were t...

Mesenchymal chondrosarcoma (MCS) is an uncommon sarcoma which primarily occurs in the extremities but rarely originates from the lung. Herein, we report a case of a 29-year-old female who presented with a lung mass detected by the physical examination. The tumor was resected and the pathological examination revealed primary MCS of the lung. After the operation, the chemotherapy and radiotherapy...
متن کاملOncological outcome after lung metastasis in patients presenting with localized chondrosarcoma at extremities: Tokai Musculoskeletal Oncology Consortium study
The oncological outcome after lung metastasis in patients with chondrosarcoma of the extremities has not been reported. Between June 2000 and June 2013, 179 patients with chondrosarcoma in the extremities were treated at eleven hospitals. Twenty consecutive patients (11.2%) developed lung metastases after initial treatment of primary chondrosarcoma in the extremities. We investigated the oncolo...
متن کاملsCD30 and sCD40L Detection in Patients with Osteosarcoma, Chondrosarcoma and Ewing Sarcoma
Background: Primary malignant bone tumors are heterogeneous groups of neoplasms, which affect mainly children and adolescents. The most common types are Osteosarcoma, Ewing sarcoma and chondrosarcoma. Elevation of sCD30 and sCD40L has been observed in lymphoma, leukemia and autoimmune disorders. Objective: To evaluate serum concentrations of sCD30 and sCD40L in patients with primary malignant b...
